To commemorate "Digital Monster Day" (June 26, 1997), EX09 features Digimon from the handheld devices "Digital Monster Ver.1 - Ver.5", which includes fan-favourites like Betamon and Etemon! Classic gameplay elements such as feeding and training – unique to the original toys – are also recreated on cards.

Additionally, special frames inspired by the iconic handheld devices have been designed to enhance the nostalgic feel!
